Baby Room Reveal - Aurora's 'Under The Sea' Bedroom
Introducing baby girl, Aurora’s ‘under the sea’ themed bedroom. Our darling girl came a month early and with all the house moving and I was still working at that stage … I hadn’t had a chance to get her room ready at all … and it’s been a very busy few weeks juggling 2 under 2 but finally her room actually looks like a room.
I’d always planned on doing an ‘under the sea’ theme for baby no. 2 no matter what the gender and I’m so happy with how it turned out. Searching high and low for the perfect pieces to bring it all together.
The cot is a ‘hand me down’ (saving a little money where we can is always a bonus) … rocking chair is the one we had for Cash’s room, it is from Adairs (not sure if they still sell this style), the ‘changing table’ / drawers … is a piece of furniture I commissioned from Savage House Interiors, she found this vintage beauty for me and painted her in electric blue, and we have used it as a hall way console and as a desk in the past. And now in the new house with no where for a hall table (and I have much a bigger desk in my new office) I didn’t want to get rid of her, I love this piece … so was very happy to find it worked perfectly as her drawers/changing table. I think the design of it really suits the ‘under the sea’ theme. I had it re-painted in Dulux ‘ … ‘ to compliment the colour palette of this room better (perks of wooden furniture? to be able to re-invent them however you like as much as you want)
The ‘Whale’ print is by ‘Amber Textiles’ I purchased it through Society 6, the ‘quote’ artwork is by my sister, Kahlie, the quilt in the cot, sea horse stuffed toy and baby mobile are all from Anthropologie, teal taper candle holder is Freedom, purple vase is HK Living, 3 of my favourite proses on postcards on the wall are by Tess Guneiry (creator of The Apricot Memirors) and are working a treat for my sanity changing nappies 50 times a day … my two favourite bamboo wraps from Kip & Co hang on the cot and rocking chair, the ‘watermelon’ cushion on the rocking chair is from Country Road (purchased a few years back), teal cushion in the cot is Eadie Lifestyle, and patterned cushion is Bonnie & Neil.
The ‘Taurus’ print, and Aurora’s beautiful 'Birth Chart’ is by the amazing Brooke of Various Friends (I’m still so very obsessed with her work, and couldn’t wait to get my hands on Aurora’s birth chart) Brooke does such a beautiful job at explaining birth charts for little souls, and I find it really helpful to understand their own little personalities.
I also got a ‘Write to Me’ baby book (which I still haven’t written one word in, 2nd child hey? haha) … I have the same one for Cash (and wrote in his religiously every week haha)
And the little animal figurines are Schleich.
I hope she loves her room just like Cash did from such an early age (and he loves his new room in our new house too, I’ll share that in another week or so).
If you are interested in me creating an exciting room for the little soul in your life, don’t hesitate to get in contact.
