Coolangatta Interior and Architecture Photography for Costello Co of Curve Coolangatta
I was thrilled to be asked to photograph Curve Coolangatta. A development by Jackaroo Property, with project marketing by Costello Co.
We did this shoot over 3 days, capturing what we could as each part of the build was complete, so Dominica could get start on marketing, while we waited for more of the build to be completed, to be able to capture it all.
Of course using the natural sunlight wherever possible, we did morning and afternoon shoots to capture it all. And well worth it.
Perth Hotel Photography for Wonil Hotel
It was an absolute dream to travel to Perth, for a full week of photography work for Accor Hotels.
We spent 3 days styling to camera and photography the beautiful, Wonil Hotel Perth. This including, each room type, the reception, library, restaurant, alfresco dining and exterior shots.
Working with stylist, Anna Flanders was incredible, she is so talented, and such a pleasure to work with on this project.
Ashley Gill of Accor Hotels was, as always, so professional and made the whole shoot go so well, always so in awe of watching her work.

I use to travel regularly for work before I had kids, and it’s been so nice to travel again this year now that they are older. Visiting WA for the first time was wonderful, and I can’t wait to get back there.

I’m not sure what the market would be like in Dubbo for my photography work, so I would really love to have a chat to anyone interested in my photograph work seeing this.

This shoot was completed on a beautiful 120 acre property in Western Plains, Dubbo. Only a short drive to the extraordinary Dubbo Zoo. If you are interested in holidaying in the affectionally known, Shouse. Please also get in touch and I’ll put you in contact with the owners.
It is a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom home, with a loft living space, which could double as a second bedroom. The build and creation of this home is beautiful, and such a joy to stay in. The property sits high, and has absolutely stunning views! which is near unheard of in Dubbo.
I am so so proud of the owners, for what they have created and so privileged to stay and reap the rewards of their hard work.
I hope you’ll enjoy a browse through this holiday home:
Brisbane Commercial Offices Photography for Gray Puksand
What a challenging shoot! … I was so far out of my comfort zone, with what you may have already noticed … the lights are all on!
I have shoot with downlights on, I’ll often put a feature lighting on, like lamps and wall scones. But I detest downlights. This shoot needed to be done, in a time I was heading away with my family on a 3 month adventure around Australia, I flu back up especially for this shoot for my clients. As it was already a working environment when we photographed it, we could only have access to the space on a weekend date.
I have previously gone over the floor plans, and I had a plan for the day using the natural sunlight that would be beaming through all the windows. We were on site before sunrise, ready to capture this space in it’s best light, only to be meet with a thick layer of cloud cover. There was no sunlight getting through those horrible grey things.
The wether hadn't been great leading up to the shoot, so I had borrowed even more lighting then I usually bring to a shoot, hopeing to rectify the no sunlight problem, but we also only had access to the space for 6 hours, and there was a lot to get through in that time.
In the end, we had to use the downlights … and I cringe at it all … if you don’t know why already, it’s the horrible shadow lines it puts everywhere, and the colour of the lights, changing the colour of all the finishes.
A very ‘not my style’ shoot, ended up coming together so well … the clients are very happy with the end results, and that is all that matters =)
“ I work for a sustainable decorative company, supplying products to architects and designers, and have purchased project images shot by Tanika a couple of times now.
One thing I have to say is that Tanika's photography work is absolutely stunning. She understands her clients' briefs and can capture beautiful spaces, without a doubt! I sure will be recommending Tanika to my co-workers. Great work, Tanika! Keep it up! “ - Celine, Forest One
Product Photography for Cosmetic Bags by Pip & Haze
It’s all smokes and mirrors baby … don’t have a photogenic bathroom? No worries, I created these different looks around my own home, as much as I try to keep my styling chaos for a shoot in my actual studio, it always spills into other rooms of my home … depending on where the natural light is hitting and what texture from my exisiting furniture I am wanting to use.
These beautiful cosmetic bags are by Pip and Haze, we loved getting to have a little fun and be creative for this colourful brand.

For the shoot, I made up all the little ‘bathroom vignettes’ all over the house … I could of used photography lighting, but knowing what time each practical spot was going to get beautiful natural sunlight, and just left it set up, and shot each spot in the natural sunlight when it hit.
STYLING TIP:
Incorporate a mix of textures and colours to add depth and visual appeal. Combine different materials like fabrics, wood, metal, or glass to create an interesting and layered composition. Pay attention to the colour palette of the space and choose accessories that complement it.

Creatives in the industry you need for your next photoshoot
You’ve booked a shoot with me, what’s next? … do you want to know the top 4 questions I get asked by my clients?
Do you have a make up artist you recommend?
Erin Forbes is my number 1 recommendation for make up, she can also style hair, but if it’s a bigger shoot, with more people, you may want to book in with Moosh Hair Studio.
Where do you purchase fresh flowers and greenery?
If you can get there, The GC Flower Market, in Burliegh Heads is fantastic, closer to my local area, I use Tugun Fruit and Flower Market.
Where can we hire furniture and large props for our photo shoot?
I have a large collection of smaller homewares props available to hire for my shoots, but if there are larger furniture items you are in need of for your shoot, I can highly recommend Tailored Space Interiors, in Tweed Heads.
What is your favourite studio to work in?
I do have my own photography studio, to use for small shoots …. when it’s not possible to use my own photography studio (if it is a larger shoot, with a bigger team) … my favourite Photography Studio is 11 Past 11 Studio in Currumbin, Masa is always so helpful, and is set up so well, for all kinds of shoots, he has everything you need.

Kirra Beach Commercial Photography for the RSL Art Union Penthouse with Neale Whitaker
BCW Global got in contact with me, to photograph Neale Whitaker in the latest RSL Art Union prize home (a penthouse and 3 units), last month.
It was a fun day, with a great team, and I was lucky enough to secure Brooke Darling as my assistant for the day, having this beautiful experienced photographer to assist was game-changing to how the whole day ran.
It was an extremely wet and overcast day … all the way through. So has taken a lot of editing (and a lot of photography lighting on the day) to get these shots looking like this.
I’ll be sharing the before - after editing process of this shoot in my up and coming editing e-book. Sign up here if you are interested in purchasing this new educational tool, for interior and product photographers.

Jefferson Lane, Palm Beach Real Estate Photography for AJK Property
I was thrilled to get the call from these lovely home owners. I photographed this house over 3 years ago for The Beach Furniture, as the home owners had purchased a variety of furniture pieces from this local store.
I was thrilled to get the call from these lovely home owners. I photographed this house over 3 years ago for The Beach Furniture, as the home owners had purchased a variety of furniture pieces from this local store.
They were now selling the property, and wasn’t happy with the ‘standard’ real estate photography they received, but remembered they liked the photography I had done of their home over 3 years ago … I’ve been getting this call a lot lately … home owners wanting a more ‘editorial’ feel for real estate … to capture the essence of the home, to spend the time waiting for the right light, styling the space to suit the feeling of the home, the position of the home and of course the location.
So for this job, we started with a sunrise shot of the exterior that faces the beach, I then styled up the entire interior, using pieces from my personal prop collection (and the car jam packed with home styling accessories).
All in all this home took 7 hrs to photograph.
You can see the listing for this property here:

And a couple of family shots of the home owners as well, to remember their time in this beautiful beach side home.
“We accidentally came across Tanika when a company organised a shoot at our house for a range of products we had purchased. We were so in love with her photography that when we decided to put our house on the market years later, we hunted for hours to find the blog the photos were used for to get her details.
Since then we have used her for a second property shoot and also recommended her to a friend who is a real estate agent, who then subsequently used her photography for her own house!
Could not recommend Tanika enough!”

I provided a variety of shots, which I then personally put together to create a custom GIF for this client, something a bit more interesting to use on their website and socials rather than a stand-alone photo.
