Hotel Photography
Over the past four years, Tanika Blair Photography has become a trusted photographer for leading hotel and hospitality brands throughout Australia and internationally. Working extensively with Accor Hotels, Tanika has photographed properties across the Novotel, Pullman, Mercure, Mantra, Peppers and The Sebel brands, with assignments taking her throughout Australia and New Zealand.
From luxury resorts and boutique accommodation to large-scale hotel brands, Tanika is known for creating imagery that goes beyond simply documenting a space. Drawing on her background in Interior Design and over 13 years of experience photographing interiors and architecture, she captures the atmosphere, experience and lifestyle that make each property unique.
Her approach combines thoughtful styling, meticulous attention to detail and a deep understanding of natural light to create warm, inviting imagery that resonates with potential guests. Rather than a traditional real estate style, Tanika's photography focuses on storytelling—showcasing not only the design of a hotel, but the feeling of staying there.
This ability to balance architecture, interiors, guest experience and brand identity is why leading hospitality groups continue to trust Tanika to photograph their properties across Australia and internationally.
You can also explore Tanika's hotel videography work here, offering clients a seamless visual experience across both photography and motion content.
It was a pleasure to travel to Melbourne to photograph The Sebel, one of a number of hotel projects I've completed for Accor Hotels. Assisted by Kelly, we spent two full days capturing the property, including six guest rooms, the reception, library, conference facilities, gym, pool area and exterior imagery.
As with all of my hospitality projects, we incorporated lifestyle styling throughout the shoot to create imagery that felt warm, inviting and reflective of the guest experience. With a large shot list and multiple spaces to photograph, careful planning and teamwork were key to ensuring every area was captured at its best. Being trusted to travel interstate for projects like this is always a highlight of my work, and I loved creating a collection of imagery that showcases everything The Sebel Melbourne has to offer.
Mercure Spring Hill was a wonderful project to photograph, with a focus on creating warm, welcoming imagery that reflected the guest experience and showcased the hotel's recent updates. Together with my assistant, Kelly, we styled each space with a lifestyle aesthetic and carefully planned the shoot around the beautiful morning light, which helped bring warmth and depth to the interiors.
Our second shoot for the Brisbane, Spring Hill - Mercure Hotel. This time photographing their newly refurbished rooms, capturing 2 of these incredibly renovated hotel rooms. We were pleased to be able to also lifestyle style these spaces for the shoot. Always an added bit of fun to get to ‘tell the story’ for the shoot.
Our first shoot for this hotel was of their reception/foyer, exterior, pool and conference rooms, you can see this here.
A pleasure to be asked to stay at Kirra Point Holiday Apartments, and capture my young family enjoying these beautiful apartments, and facilities. My favourite place in the world is Kirra Beach, my local, where I’ve grown up, all my best memories at this beach.
The kids did so great with their modelling once again. The combo of directing your own kids, rather then children you don’t know, I find works really well, or my kids are just quite experienced with this? either way I’ll take on more of these shoots any day.
I recently photographed Gold Coast Motel, creating a collection of lifestyle-focused imagery designed to showcase the property's relaxed atmosphere and guest experience. Working alongside my assistant during the four-hour shoot, we carefully styled each space and utilised the beautiful natural light throughout the day to create warm, inviting photographs.
Peppers Noosa Resort & Villas was a fantastic project that saw Mathilde and I create both photography and videography content for the property. Alongside photographing and filming the resort itself, we captured drone footage and lifestyle imagery throughout Noosa to help showcase not only the accommodation, but the destination and guest experience as a whole.
As with all of our hospitality projects, we incorporated thoughtful lifestyle styling throughout the shoot to create warm, inviting imagery that reflected the relaxed luxury of the resort. From the beautifully appointed villas and resort facilities to the surrounding natural beauty of Noosa, our goal was to create a collection of visual content that inspires future guests and captures everything that makes a stay at Peppers Noosa Resort & Villas so special.
1 of 4 shoots we did this day in Brisbane. My first shoot for Mercure hotels, and more to come! We were so thrilled with how this mid day shoot came out.
A challenging shoot for me, as I don’t usually work with artificial lights, or this many. Luckily, it wasn’t downlights (the worst kind of light), but I got comfortable in the uncomfortable, and all parties were pleased with the result.
The first shoot I’ve done for Novotel hotels, and more to come! This is Twin Waters on the Sunshine Coast.
My regular client Accor Hotels were excited I was going to be in Canberra, and asked if I could capture Mantra MacArthur for them while I was there.
Peppers Salt Resort & Spa was a special project to work on, being one of the closest Accor properties to home. Located in beautiful Kingscliff, this shoot focused on creating a fresh collection of imagery that showcased the resort's relaxed coastal atmosphere, spacious accommodation and resort facilities.
Working with my assistant, Mathilde, we incorporated lifestyle styling throughout the shoot and carefully utilised the natural light to create warm, inviting photographs that reflected the guest experience. From the guest rooms and pools to the lush grounds and shared spaces, our goal was to capture the essence of a stay at Peppers Salt—relaxed, welcoming and quintessentially coastal. It's always a pleasure working with the Accor team, and even more rewarding when the project is right here on my doorstep.
Travelling to Magnetic Island to photograph Peppers Blue on Blue was one of the highlights of the year. Joined by Mathilde, we captured both photography and videography for the property, creating a complete visual library that showcased not only the hotel itself, but the incredible destination surrounding it.
Alongside styling the interiors and guest spaces, we also captured drone footage and lifestyle content throughout the area to help tell the broader story of the guest experience. From the marina views and tropical landscapes to the beautifully designed accommodation, our goal was to create imagery and video content that reflected the relaxed island atmosphere and unique appeal of staying at Peppers Blue on Blue. It's always exciting to travel for hospitality projects, and Magnetic Island certainly did not disappoint.
An international photography trip to New Zealand really started 2025 off with a bang! this is Bluewater Resort in Lake Tekapo, an absolute privelage to visit this stunning destination for Accor, to capture another beautiful hotel.
Such a thrill to be asked by Accor to fly to New Zealand for a week long photo shoot capturing both Clearwater Resort in Christchurch and Bluewater Resort in Lake Tekapo. A real career highlight doing my first international photography job.
What a cool hotel! an absolute pleasure to fly to Perth for the week for Accor Hotels to style and photograph The Adnate hotel and restaurant.
Early days and late nights, capture everything in the best lighting.
I can’t wait to get back to WA to do more.
It was an absolute dream to travel to Perth, for a full week of photography work for Accor Hotels.
We spent 3 days styling to camera and photography the beautiful, Wonil Hotel Perth. This including, each room type, the reception, library, restaurant, alfresco dining and exterior shots.
Working with stylist, Anna Flanders was incredible, she is so talented, and such a pleasure to work with on this project.
Ashley Gill of Accor Hotels was, as always, so professional and made the whole shoot go so well, always so in awe of watching her work.
The 5th property we have photographed for the Accor Hotels group.
A cloudy day that made for the most short nature light to shoot with.
A pleasure to capture this 3 bedroom Penthouse.
We have loved doing these shoots, for hotel businesses. A 2nd level to ‘Airbnb photography’, which we have become so well known for.
A pleasure to do a sunrise and sunset shoot for the Ramanda Hotel in Ballina. Coming equipped with lighting equipment for a cloudy couple of hours when we didn’t have the sun … and styling props, which were all ‘holiday’ themed … and didn't take away from the actual look of the hotel rooms.
We completed 5 different rooms for this hotel, as well as pool shots.
Take a browse of our favourite shots from this shoot.
It’s been so great to be adding to my portfolio, a new category … hotel photography. I’ve now photographed 8 different hotel rooms for Accor Hotels on the Gold Coast and in Brisbane. Styling to the camera is so important for these photographs and even more important is the lighting. Each shoot has been carefully timed to make use of the natural sunlight direction for each room as much as possible.
The room below is the Deluxe Studio Suite, in The Johnson Art Series … location: Brisbane … book this room here.
A pleasure to photograph this epic Penthouse for Accor Hotels. The Johnson Art Series in Brisbane is such a beautiful building. We needed the sunlight for this, and so glad it showed it’s face for this shoot (or we would of postponed).
This penthouse needed the natural sunlight to really give it the right feel, such a large beautiful space for a big group to enjoy.
