Gold Coast Interior Photography for BSPN of CSi Southport
What a fun shoot! … the client was trying to organise models for this shoot with in their team, and it wasn’t going to work out, so I offered to bring my own children for the shoot, and they did incredible! … it ended up being a 5 hour shoot, and they were still taking direction, and getting each shot right until the very end, I was extremely proud.
And what a fantastic space to work on! This is my second shoot for BSPN and I was thrilled to be apart of it.

Commercial Interior Photography for Gray Puksand of their NHP project in Melbourne
This is the 9th Gray Puksand project I have photographed, this being the first project Gray Puksand was flown me down to Melbourne to capture.
This is the 9th Gray Puksand project I have photographed, this being the first project Gray Puksand was flown me down to Melbourne to capture, I was so curious as to why they were flying me down rather then having a Melbourne photographer do this one, and they said it is my compositions that they love, and the lighter way I edit the photos. So I was thrilled.
I do travel a lot nowadays for my hotel photography work, but this Australia wide client I wasn’t expecting to get flown to Melbourne to shoot for.
I flu down the night before, and we started the shoot at 7am the following day, only taking around 4-5 hrs to completely capture the space. I was able to secure an assistant in Melbourne to help me for the day. And I flu back that afternoon.
Having such a big team attend the shoot was so helpful to action the space, and makes all the difference to the photos. If possible always be dressed a ready to jump in photos on your shoots.
Brisbane Interior Photography for Gray Puksand and McCormack of the McMillian Shakespeare Workspace Project
My favourite thing about Gray Puksand shoots, Anita and the team allow the time to add people into nearly every shot, and it brings so much more life to their photos.

This shoot of the McMillian Shakespeare Workspace was completed for both McCormack Builders and Gray Puksand. It was the first of 4 shoots we conducted in one day, something I haven’t attempted before (but just didn’t have the time to come up to Brisbane again anytime soon, so I was very glad all 4 clients were able to do the same day and it all worked out timeline wise with sunlight).

Brisbane Interior Photography for Gray Puksand … this is our 3rd shoot for this awesome company, I’m so thrilled every time they contact me.
Using the iPad tethered to the camera is key to getting this style of shoot right, as every piece of furniture is tweaked for each camera angle/shot … being able to walk into frame and see on the large screen exactly what you are doing is what makes these shots possible with such a small team to execute this shoot.
Adding people into these shoots really help show how the space is used, you’ll often spot me in shots for Gray Puksand too, when we just need one more person.
This shoot was smaller but the last shoot for Gray Puksand back in February, we had 6 people in some shots, and that takes a lot to get the positions just right for each person, but so so worth it for the final shots of the bigger commercial spaces.
How to position models, getting the figure blur right and a variety of ideas for using people in interior photography is covered in my interior photography 1:1 mentoring.

What a challenging shoot! … I was so far out of my comfort zone, with what you may have already noticed … the lights are all on!
I have shoot with downlights on, I’ll often put a feature lighting on, like lamps and wall scones. But I detest downlights. This shoot needed to be done, in a time I was heading away with my family on a 3 month adventure around Australia, I flu back up especially for this shoot for my clients. As it was already a working environment when we photographed it, we could only have access to the space on a weekend date.
I have previously gone over the floor plans, and I had a plan for the day using the natural sunlight that would be beaming through all the windows. We were on site before sunrise, ready to capture this space in it’s best light, only to be meet with a thick layer of cloud cover. There was no sunlight getting through those horrible grey things.
The wether hadn't been great leading up to the shoot, so I had borrowed even more lighting then I usually bring to a shoot, hopeing to rectify the no sunlight problem, but we also only had access to the space for 6 hours, and there was a lot to get through in that time.
In the end, we had to use the downlights … and I cringe at it all … if you don’t know why already, it’s the horrible shadow lines it puts everywhere, and the colour of the lights, changing the colour of all the finishes.
A very ‘not my style’ shoot, ended up coming together so well … the clients are very happy with the end results, and that is all that matters =)
“ I work for a sustainable decorative company, supplying products to architects and designers, and have purchased project images shot by Tanika a couple of times now.
One thing I have to say is that Tanika's photography work is absolutely stunning. She understands her clients' briefs and can capture beautiful spaces, without a doubt! I sure will be recommending Tanika to my co-workers. Great work, Tanika! Keep it up! “ - Celine, Forest One
