Another stunning job by the Design Scout Interiors team, this time I much more local job, this one is in Coolangatta, looking over Kirra beach.

We did this over 2 afternoons, rather than one full day, making use of all the natural sunlight this home gets, facing north-west.

When assessing the rooms you need to photograph, it’s important to take note of the lighting conditions. One side of the house may have a warm tone, while the other side may appear colder with a blue tinge. It’s best to avoid capturing the rooms with cool, blue lighting as much as possible. Instead, wait for the natural sunlight to move throughout the day, transforming the ‘blue rooms’ into warm, inviting spaces.
Understanding and adjusting colour temperature can greatly influence the mood and ambiance of your photographs.

A very stormy day, creating moody light, made even better by professional photography lighting to create this look. (I’m always prepared for whatever the weather may be on the day of the shoot).

A stunning home renovation project to style and photography for Brooks Builder. This shoot package also included videography. We are so thrilled to be able to offer this to our clients now. My gosh have I enjoyed working with Bhodi these past few months … we’ve captured 3 of his stunning interior design projects together. He is just as much of a perfectionist as I am, we are taking our time, styling every little detail to camera … and wow! we are both so happy with the outcome. Very much a collaborative effort.

I’m absolutely honoured to photograph Bhodi’s interior design work, an emerging Gold Coast interior designer with so much talent that is doing stunning work.

The below project is the second one we captured together, it is a Broadbeach apartment. We had another perfect cloudy day for the shoot, defusing the light beautifully, and allowing me to use just one photography light, so we could control the lighting so nicely.

The below project is the first one we captured together, it is a Palm Beach home. We had a beautiful cloudy day for the shoot, defusing the light beautifully, and allowing me to use just one photography light, so we could control the lighting so nicely.

I was thrilled to be asked by Katherine, of Kiln Design, to not only photograph this project for her, but also source and provide the styling (Katherine is based in Canberra, and flu up for the shoot day, so it just made more sense for me to do the styling for this one).

The home was empty (and part of it still a construction zone) … but you wouldn’t know would you? … very happy with our efforts, to capture this project before the home owners were moving in.

Another cloudy day for this shoot (which I love, when the view isn’t needed for the client) … we were able to use my professional photography lighting to add more lighting were it was needed (usually outside, aimed through windows, so it looks realistic).

Shoot no. 4 for Marina Hirst Interiors, this time photographing their Tennyson interior design project. Another cloudy day (definitely like those best when photographing interiors, where the view isn’t a feature of the project)

The shoot started off on such a high, interior designer, Marina took me out for breakfast before we started which was so lovely. It’s so wonderful when clients become friends. Photographing Marina’s Chelmer project this time round, a little more challenging then the other shoots had been. We were given a much sunnier day, but a home that doesn’t get a whole stack of natural light coming through. This just means the shoot does slow down quite a bit, with the added lighting tasks, to light each shot the right way.
